Colin Friedrich from Excelsa Gardens Visits TRBG

After the cold weather everyone enjoys a beautiful sunny day. Last Saturday, March 17, was that day; bright sunshine, cool breeze and a great lecture. Colin Friedrich, of Excelsa Gardens in Loxahatchee, was our speaker at Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens. TRBG hosts a plant sale and lecture once a month in order to share knowledge with our visitors about special topics of interest and to provide access to plants that may not be available within close range of our area.

Colin was a big hit with our visitors as he identified a variety of tropical plants and informed us of the special needs of each plant in reference to sun, water and location. He remained long after his lecture to answer numerous questions from visitors and invited all to visit his nursery.

As is usual, plants were raffled off at the end of the talk and three visitors were happy to take home a new plant. Our luck winners were: Judy Ladd, Teresa Lake and Barbara Grimaldi.

Colin Friedrich opens his lecture with a brief description of how the garden started.

Friedrich shares his knowledge with our 60 plus visitors.
